Shouting slogans hailing Hazare and 'Vande Mataram!' and 'Hindustan Zindabad!', the marchers stated from the Bandra railway station and walked all the way to Juhu.
It was one of the biggest protests in Mumbai. India Against Corruption (IAC) said there were one lakh people on the streets. Others disagreed but admitted there were tens of thousands.
The marchers included Mumbai residents, both men and women, traders, students and NGO activists.
'Around 40 bikers who call themselves 'Tough Boys' who mostly drive Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield went around the city asking people to join the march,' an IAC coordinator said.
Azad Maidan also saw doctors coming out from the nearby hospitals to keep a check on the condition of around 60 people who have been fasting since Tuesday -- the same day Hazare began his hunger strike in New Delhi.
Hazare is demanding a tough anti-corruption legislation as compared to the government-sponsored Lokpal Bill submitted to parliament.
Pro-Hazare protests were also reported from other parts of Maharashtra including his village Ralegan-Siddhi in Ahmednagar district, Nashik, Pune and Nagpur.
