Bollywood's warring Khans are at it . After being at loggerheads for over three years, actors Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan seem to have taken their rivalry to the virtual space by releasing the digital looks of their respective films, Ra.One and Ek Tha Tiger, on the same day.
While Shah Rukh tweeted a picture of his animated self in a still from the RA.One PlayStation game on Wednesday, Yash Raj Films (YRF) circulated Ek Tha Tiger's digital look on the same day. SRK posted on Twitter: "Sorry to go on and on about the Sony ps3 game, but I am so taken in by it. Yippeee my own personal video game...though the hair is little pointy."
While some call it a coincidence, others find the move well-timed. "Definitely, there is competition as these are two big films starring two big stars. So, indeed there is a war of sorts," says trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Film critic Amod Mehra agrees. "Though YRF would not like to have a tiff with SRK as he is working with them in their next, but the similar timing certainly raises a doubt."
Other industry experts call it sheer chance. "Neither Shah Rukh nor YRF are so petty as to have planned such a move," says Anupama Chopra. Atul Mohan echoes the same feeling. "SRK is not even in the country to stay updated on Salman's movie. It is nothing but a twist of fate," he says.
